The Mission NexGen Leadership impacts the world and our culture by equipping and empowering teenagers to become effective leaders and influencers for growth and change in every aspect of life including school, home, work and relationships. Our Method In partnership with local businesses and schools, NexGen Leadership provides area high schools leadership classes in a small class size environment of 16 or less students. NGL’s curriculum helps high schoolers grow into powerful and respected leaders capable of changing the world around them today and, more importantly, preparing them to change their world into the future. A Great Need America is facing a demographic and workforce crisis. With the aging of American workers the need for qualified employees to replace those leaving professional employment is critical. The need for effective LEADERS among these workers is even more critical.According to the report Taking Inventory: Job Skills in the Tennessee Workforce, it is paramount for high school students to be “better prepared for the demands of college and work.” The report also spotlights a “significant gap...between key workforce skills and employer needs...including strong verbal communication skills and professional or soft skills.”Another key finding of this report was the need for high school students to be self-motivated and work effectively in teams, especially given today’s flatter organizational structures. Key to effectively working in such environments is the ability to work in a group setting, not only contributing to the group objective but also motivating and leading others within that team. Leadership skills learned by young people today will produce the needed future leaders.
